<br />This product contains the Hydrodynamic forecasts, calculated using the HYCOM 3D model implemented by the Shom at the regional scales (Atlantic Ocean, Mediterrannnean sea).

The « Hourly surface hydrodynamics » data represent the instantaneous situation in temperature, salinity, speed and direction of currents, as hourly extracted from the surface layer of the 3D model forecasts.<br />

Variables in the netcdf: zonal and meridional components of the current (m.s-1), salinity of sea water and in-situ Temperature (degC).

The "time" variable in the netcdf file corresponds to the date of validity (expressed in Julian days elapsed since 1 January 1950 at 00:00:00). The global attribute "bulletin_date" gives the date "T0" of the considered run.

Shom HYCOM 3D models daily run on the Météo-France calculator (Toulouse).

The HYCOM3D-SURF data available on data.shom.fr are distributed as follows: one netcdf file per day (analysis or forecast) containing 24 time intervals of all surface parameters (extraction of the first layer of the 3D model, hourly step).
