A partir de 1968, ils respectent la norme hydrographique S-44 de l'Organisation Hydrographique Internationale en vigueur à la date du levé. Les plus denses ont été décimés dans les bases de données du Shom (typiquement à 1m par petits fonds, 100m par grands fonds). Bathymetric datasets are an extraction of surveys belonging to the Shom public database. They go through a quality control before integration. From 1968, datasets are in compliance with the S-44 Standards of the International Hydrographic Organization which were in effect at the time of survey.
